As people who visit here regularly have undoubtedly noticed by now, I’ve been in the process of redesigning and updating the web site lately. More precisely, given that I’m an electronic fumble-fingers of the first order, Brad Torgersen has been revamping the site.

I’ve posted the works in progress in the “Forthcoming” section. The only things I listed there were manuscripts that were already written or partially written. I thought I’d take the time here to add the work that I have planned for the relatively near future.

I’m working right now on a long novella or short novel set in one of Bill Fawcett’s Clan of the Claw anthologies. I don’t have a title for it yet.

1636: The Wars on the Rhine. This is an anthology along the lines of 1634: The Ram Rebellion; that is to say, a collection of stories by different authors but ones which share a common story arch. Beside myself, the authors in this volume are Virginia DeMarce, Anette Pedersen and Kim Mackay. Their stories are already finished. The anthology is simply waiting for me to write my part of it.

The Gods of Sagittarius. This is a science fiction novel I’ll be writing with Mike Resnick. There are two main characters in the story, one human and one alien. Mike will write the episodes involving the human character and I’ll do the alien one.

1636: The Viennese Waltz. This is a 1632 series novel I’ll be doing with Gorg Huff and Paula Goodlett. It will be closely tied to a solo novel I’ll be doing that is the direct sequel to 1636: The Saxon Uprising. Many of the principal characters in Viennese Waltz are ones that Gorg and Paula have developed over the years in a number of stories in the Ring of Fire anthologies and the Grantville Gazettes.

Titles to be Determined. Dave Freer and I will be doing a novel in the Heirs of Alexandria series that will be one of two sequels to the upcoming Burdens of the Dead. [Forthcoming March 2013] This novel will continue the adventures of Benito, Maria, Marco and Kat in Italy. The other sequel is one I’ll be writing with Mercedes Lackey that follows the adventures of Prince Manfred, Erik and Bortai. I don’t know yet in what order the two books will be produced.

Dave Freer and I also have a contract for another novel in the Witches of Karres series, following The Wizard of Karres (with Mercedes Lackey) and The Sorceress of Karres.
